Summer is over. Well, not officially, but as far as events go I’d say we’re revving up season much earlier than ever before. There is something cool to do every single day for the next two weeks in #SWFL! Here are a few of my top picks!

Paul Rodriguez has been making audiences laugh all over the world (in Spanish & English) for decades with his unique brand of humor that has undeniable universal appeal. Stop by The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center during artwalk , where they will feature eight artists from the Punta Gorda Artisan’s Atelier from 6-8 p.m. The exhibit displays work ranging from fashion and sculpture to abstract paintings and mixed media. The artists host a reception that includes hors d’oeuvres and acoustic pop/rock music by Coventry. The exhibit is on display through Aug. 28. The event is free. Get a last look at Marcus Jansen’s works before they get international attention and head to Europe. This is a no-brainer. Just go, people. Come out to Roger Dean Stadium located at 4751 Main St., Jupiter and sample more than 50 regional and national microbrews. Age 21 and older for the brews. Love opera? Catch live performance in Naples— Florida that is …
Silverspot Cinema presents a transmission of Arena Di Vernoa’s performance of “Aida” at 6 p.m. The Arena di Verona is the biggest outside lyrical theater in the world. TGIM kicks off fifth year with celebrity judges
Join celebrity judges American Idol producer Kalhil KJ Adams, filmmaker and NBC2 reporter Natasha Verma, WGCU’s John Davis, musical guest Carley Levy, host Eric Raddatz and co-host Melissa DeHaven for the Fort Myers Film Festival’s first Monday night indie film show of the season. Watch and  judge short indie films every first Monday in season (*schedule of judges and musicians TBA) submitted to the Fort Myers Film Festival and have your say as to whether or not it makes the grade for final programming during their festival to be held March 25-29, 2015. Join for happy hour at 6:30 p.m. and show, which starts at 7 p.m. TGIM takes place at The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center located at 2301 First St., Fort Myers.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. There will be a 1/2 price off offered to all Facebook members through summer. Set in the 1960’s, playboy Bernard thinks he has it all; an apartment in Paris and three gorgeous flight attendant fiancés that he keeps “one up, one down, and one pending.” Chaos ensues when a surprise schedule change, brings all three of his fiancés to Paris, and Bernard’s apartment, simultaneously. The Fort Myers Film Festival presents a screening of the independent documentary “Farewell to Factory Towns” at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Alliance for the Arts. The one-hour film centers on the former factory town of North Adams, Mass., where a museum of contemporary art was seen as a key engine of economic development. There is a $5 suggested donation.
