Picture 1So I know everyone you know has got Ice Bucket Challenged so far, but I got ‘hold a note CF Challenge’ by April Florio. I accepted the challenge (WATCH HERE) for my friends Melody Lynn who recently successfully received a transplant, and good friend Anabel Stenzel who we unfortunately lost to the disease. Anabel was featured in the movie The Power of Two, which played at the Fort Myers Film Festival in 2012. To watch that movie, or for more information about it head to http://www.thepoweroftwomovie.com/the…

I turned around and challenged Quinton Thomas, Gabrielle Macafee, Carley Levy and Erica Wagner. Since I also got splashed by ice buckets, I challenged a few to the Ice Bucket Challenge as well. This means you Randy Henderson, Mike Scott, Jim Griffith and Melissa Dehaven. You have 48 hours. Let’s have a little fun and do this to make a difference.

Ok, so on another note,  it has been so hot around here I actually did the ice challenge off camera just to keep cool. Then I went to see Boyhood at the theater and viola—freezing in SWFL. Here are a few of my hot top picks to stay cool as Olaf this week …

Space Art
You may be surprised to learn what Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg and a few of other artists drew up and sent to space. I’ve seen it and all I can say is Andy drew a penis and Robert drew one line. Still worth the trip to talk about how these masterful artists have fooled us all. Find it at the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery. The event is free and open through Sept. 27. For more information head to RauschenbergGallery.com or call 239.489.9313

Feeling Edgy? Try Mr. Marmalade at the Laboratory Theater
Four year-old TV addict Lucy, played by the brilliantly disturbed Stella Zuri, has been neglected by her promiscuous divorced mother. Her occasional babysitter is lazy and more interested in boys than in her young charge. As a result, little Lucy dreams up an imaginary friend, Mr. Marmalade, with whom she can work out the strange, sometimes scary and sometimes wonderful things she sees and hears adults doing on TV and in her life.

Performances will be at the theater, 1634 Woodford Avenue, Fort Myers.. All performances of summer shows will be at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available on www.brownpapertickets.com or on the theater’s website, www.laboratorytheaterflorida.com or by calling 239.218.0481. Tickets are $12 for students and $22 for adults.
