Sure you may think this week is the week for ugly successful musicians to flock to #SWFL but that’s not true. Lyle Lovett and Ringo Star are very dashing performers. Still I can’t promise you wont see one of them dressed up ugly, or maybe even as a Zombie, for our annual congregation of the dead this week. First ever exhibit by Sandra Yeyati
In a show titled Decay is Beautiful, emerging photo artist Sandra Yeyati displays more than 40 of her works at the Arts for ACT gallery in downtown Fort Myers during the month of October. While several of Yeyati’s pieces have been juried into local and national competitions and displayed in Naples and Fort Myers galleries, this is her first major exhibit. All images are signed, first edition, archival prints of limited lots. A portion of sales benefit Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc., a domestic violence and sexual assault center serving Lee, Hendry and Glades counties.

Godfrey performs through Sunday at the Off the Hook Comedy Club at House of Brewz in Gulf Coast Town Center.  Godfrey recently starred in the FX pilot “Bronx Warrants,” adding to his onscreen credits which include ZOOLANDER, “30 Rock,” and a recurring role on “Louie.” Godfrey also stars alongside Shaquille O’Neal on the TruTV series, “Upload,” which is now going into its second season. Sure the guy with the goofy hair and grin is still as funny looking as ever, and yes he was married to Julia Roberts. So what? He also has put out 14 albums of country, jazz, folk and blues. He can brag four Grammy Awards and has been touring after his album Release Me was released in February, 2012.

Zombiefy yourself
Zombicon is in its 8th year and yes, if you want to dress up and get freaked out with thousands of other zombies convening in downtown Fort Myers, this is the event for you. Nasty zombies, sexy zombies, drunk zombies and downright scary as freak zombies parade through town every year and this one is no exception. “Voodoo Nightmare” will offer six entry points to the event asking for only a $5 donation upon entry to benefit Pushing Daizies. The once and forever Beatle, Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band (Steve Lukather, Richard Page, Gregg Rolie, Todd Rundgren and Gregg Bissonette) is the same line up he has played with since 2012, with the addition of Warren Ham, who will replace longtime All Starr Mark Rivera who is on tour with Billy Joel. “I love playing with this band,” Ringo said, “and I can’t wait to get back out and play with them again.” Tickets start at $90. Belushi’s Live if you are a Bears Fan. Head downtown if you want one of the best views in Fort Myers at their Sky Bar.
